Our school system works well because of the volunteers who graciously help in many ways. The mission of the McDaid Parent-Teacher Organization is to welcome new families
to the school system, support McDaid faculty and
students as well as assisting in the educational
development of McDaid Elementary. There are no dues
for this organization. All parents or guardians of children enrolled in McDaid as well as the faculty, are considered members of this group.

Here are ways to volunteer your time and talents through PTO functions:
ROOM PARENTS -Room parents are utilized to assist the teachers on field trips, with parties, and treats. Room parents contact other parents within the classroom to help with arrangements.
SANTA SALES - The PTO sponsors a shopping day for students to buy gifts for family members. This service provides the children with an opportunity to purchase gifts at very reasonable prices and to get them wrapped and ready to put under the tree. We are always in need of help the two days of the sale to wrap gifts and assist the younger children with their shopping.
FOOD LABELS FOR EDUCATION - We participate in two redemption programs: Campbell's Labels for Education and General Mills Box Tops for Education. Labels are redeemed for items used by the school, such as P.E. equipment. The Genera Mills Box Tops are redeemed for cash. Labels can be sent to school with our students.
IRISH FEST - Is a fun annual event which includes a dinner, raffle and games. Irish Fest profits benefit both the McDaid and St. Pat's. Many volunteers are needed during this event.
SOCIAL EVENTS - In addition to the ice cream social, the PTO usually sponsors another social event during the year. In the past, we have done soup and pie suppers which also require numerous volunteers.
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK - This is a way of saying thank you to the faculty and staff who give so much to our school. The week, typically held during the first full week of May, includes a variety of gestures of appreciation.
