Summer Teacher Institutes for Elementary, Secondary Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Inquiry

 

KICKS professional development opportunities :

á    Designed to increase science content knowledge, improve teaching skills and connect with science teachers across Nebraska

á    Include eleven different KICKS institutes across the state of Nebraska

á    Lead by award-winning Nebraska educators and university professors

á    A two-week institute this summer (8 days) with up to 4 follow-up sessions throughout the school year

 

Who May Apply?

            5th-12th grade Science Teachers

            Special Education/Title Teachers                    

 

Institute Benefits:

            ¥  Science teaching resources

            ¥  Substitute fee of $100 per day

            ¥  Stipend of $1200 (gross)

            ¥  MyeLearning account for 1 year

            ¥  Lodging for those located at least 60 miles from the training site

            ¥  Graduate Credit available (5-6 credit hours)

Secondary Biology:  June 16-19 & 23-26, Columbus, NE

Secondary Physics:  June 9-12 & 16-19, Kearney, NE

Secondary Physics:  June 30-July 2 & July 7-11, Fremont, NE

Secondary Chemistry:  June 17-20 & 23-26, Gering, NE

Secondary Chemistry:  July 9-11 & 14-18, Omaha, NE

Elementary:  June 16-19 & 23-25, Fremont, NE

Elementary:  June 30-July 2 & July 7-11, Wakefield, NE

Elementary:  July 14-17 & 21-24, Henry Doorly Zoo, Omaha, NE

Inquiry for Grades K-6:  May 27-30 & July 28-31, Ogallala, NE

Inquiry for Grades 3-8:  July 22-25 plus four 2-day follow-up sessions, Grand Island, NE

Inquiry for Grades 7-12:  August 4-7 plus four 2-day follow-up sessions, Papillion, NE
