Stories,
books, and people have remarkable stories about the blizzard of 1949. One
letter I have received from Lois Folk from Mullen said that the blizzard started
on January 2; while my great grandmother Maxine Applegarth, said it started
on January 1. Roy V. Alleman, the author of Blizzard 1949, states the
blizzard started on
November 18, 1948.
Regardless of the date, many stories
will long be told about the blizzard of 1949.
