Brief Statement:
I grew up on a farm in North Central Kansas and am the oldest in a family of five children. I have been an educator for thirty-two years as an Extension Educator-4-H and six years at home when my kids were preschoolers. I taught for five years and then went into administration. I have served as a county superintendent, elementary principal, K-12 principal, middle school principal and nine years as a K-12 superintendent. We own a ranch north of Burwell and lived there for twenty years and raised horses and Simmental cattle. We have the land leased to our daughter and her husband now. We moved so I could pursue higher education and administrative jobs.
My hobbies include horses, quilting, reading, and spending time with my grandchildren. I love the Professional Bull Riders Association and the Built Ford Tough events and watch them on TV every weekend they are on. I have always liked rodeo and competed in Goat Tying and Team Roping. My husband rode barebacks and bulls, dogged steers and roped calves. He and I team roped together for several years. My favorite Nebraska rodeo is the Nebraska's Big Rodeo at Burwell. The best place to watch professional rodeo is the National Finals and I have been to the Thomas and Mach in Las Vegas six times. I plan to go to the PBR Finals and the National Finals both in 2008.
We like to snow ski as a family and will spend Christmas this year with the three kids and eleven grandkids at a lodge in Laramie and ski Snowy Range. This will be the third time we have done this for Christmas and we take more kids everytime! I thank the Lord everyday for blessing me with a great family and a great job and I would not trade places with anyone in the world.
