
Math Standards and Assessments
All fifth grade students are required to take two math assessments for the Nebraska Mathematics Standards.
8.4.5 By
the end of the eighth grade, students will apply transformations to two and
three-dimensional geometric figures.
Indicators:
* Draw geometric figures using translations or slides, rotations or turns, reflections
or flips, and scale.
8.4.6 By the end of the eighth grade, students will use geometric terms and representations to describe the physical world.
These two assessments are given second semester and the students must receive a proficient or advanced rating. If students receive a beginning or progressing rating the students will be given a second assessment.

Writing Standards
All fifth grade students are given a writing assessment second semester. This assessment is a descriptive writing sample and the students are to use the Six Traits Model of Writing skills. The students are given a topic to write about and then they are scored on ideas, organization, voice, word choice, fluency, and conventions.
